"On 24th of November 2006 sidux was formed by a group of people who strive to do the impossible: Making Debian Sid (aka “Unstable”) stable." Now, 2 years later, while we celebrate sidux' second birthday, it's time to check if we actually kept our promise to you: The Ourea Wallpaper competition has run, and a winner has been chosen.First off, I would like to thank all entrants for their submissions - there is artistic talent out there and I appreciate everyone who took the time to apply their skills for this competition :-)

The Italian -it version of the the sidux Operating System manual hits the sidux site with zenren and speedygeo as translators and maintainers !!!!The Italian version of sidux-manuals has been in the works for nearly 14 months. It was started by alessiog75, then dedo picked it up, (unfortunately he could not continue either), followed months later by fortalomo whom has subsequently moved continents.
Then along came speedygeo and zenren. zenren really put the foot to the floor in true Italian fashion!
August 20th 16:17:32 UTC fullstory, the subversion repository hosted by berlios.de that sidux uses to host all its source code, saw its ten thousandth commit.
July 26th 2005 saw the first commit to fullstory by slh, who had co-founded the repository with FabianX and myself. Fullstory has long since achieved its initial aim of providing all the software you need to combine with debian to provide the complete infrastructure for a live linux system.
As expected KDE 3.5.7 is being uploaded to debian sid right now, while this delays our release for roughly a week until KDE 3.5.7 is completely in sid, we do gain a lot of bugfixes and detail improvements that way. The release is now scheduled immediately afterwards.
Due to the tight package interdependencies, dist-upgrading might be a littler rougher than usual, please keep an eye on anything apt wants to remove.
