Welcome
Why sidux? What are the advantages of sidux? Slam wrote a post on these questions on 2006/12/09, which covers the reasons you might wish to run sidux. You may visit the post here: here∞So, what the heck, is sidux anyway? This link∞ will provide most of the answers.

Live-cd and dvd
Download the live-cd. It is available in both a 'lite' version (basic set of applications), or a full version that comes on a dvd. You can find the download mirrors here:http://manual.sidux.com/en/cd-dl-burning-en.htm#download-sidux∞
You have the choice of using the 'kde' desktop environment, or the 'xfce' desktop environment. Both versions also come with the 'fluxbox' window manager, as an alternative choice. You will find the iso's available in the sidux download mirrors. All versions are available in 386/686 and 64 bit.
Installation
Now that you have fallen in love with sidux, feel free to install it to your hard drive using the sidux installer found on the 'live cd' Look here for more info: http://manual.sidux.com/en/hd-install-en.htm∞Basics
