With LiveCD and in 64 bit, if I use F2 to select English (UK) the boot freezes with :
Code:
installing language packs for 'en-GB.utf8' . . . W: Unable to read /tmp/liveapt.1ADkfO/preferences.d/ - FileExists (2:No such file or directory)
Same with 32 bit except file is
Code:
liveapt.tkBNug
Selecting GB once running liveCD is fine

Confirmed with regard to English (UK) locale.
Though it would be nice to have the option of selecting English (AU), instead.
Cheers. |

I have had the same behaviour unless I used 'toram' , when it worked.

I found the same problem and message error ( tmp/liveapt .... No suxh file or directory) under similar circumstance, after changing local language to Pt-Br while booting from DVD-Live.
Using English, without changing language to Portuguese - Brasil the error did not happen and booting was successful. |

G'day there,
Thanks for the tip.
I tried the 'toram' option as suggested and unfortunately it didn't work for me.
The problem I've been experiencing is with the KDE-full live DVD.
I've recently downloaded and burnt the KDE-lite iso, and it works perfectly with or without the 'toram' option, for me at least.
Cheers. |

Dear sidux dev,
I noticed a bug with the pt-br bug with full kde (hypnos). After clicking f2 to choose the pt-br idiom It appeared the following error message:
"fll-locales: installing language packages for "pt-br.utf8"...W: Unable to Read /tmp/liveapt.utsyod/Preferences.d /-file exists (2: No such file or Directory)"
FYI the kdm didn't start and I was stuck at this point. Others brazilian users reported the same bug. How do I solve it up this error? I should start with english idiom and install manualy the pt-br later on? I appreciate your helpful hints.
cheers. |

Obrigado amigo x-un-i,
Thanks for your prompt reply. I got it ! this is the f2 bug and I think It is affecting a lot of languages. The way is expecting for a future correction. For the time being I'm explaining the brazilian sidux users how to translate it from english to the pt-br because many users are getting in touch with me about this bug.
Cheers.

Sorry I didn't think of this sooner but the better option is probably to add the "noaptlang" cheatcode which will stop it from trying to install the extra i18n packages.
edited: fixed so it says the right cheatcode, silly me! |
